What does all of this really mean? Who are you really?

Have you ever stopped and asked yourself, "What does all of this really mean--life, reality, the situations we find ourselves in everyday?"

Are we really just bags of flesh, milling about, doing meaningless tasks, playing with iPhones and watching TV? What is this all about really?

It would make a lot more sense if we were just beasts, eating and shitting all day--following some kind of natural and automatic rhythm. But we're not, we have become fixated on this strange way of living, this complex tapestry of thoughts and forms to which we have attributed meaning.

What happens when you start to ask yourself, "Who am I really?" Who or what is behind these flesh balls we call eyes? The answer might surprise you.

The truth is: there is no "you."

Yes, you have a body. There is a consciousness. But there is no "you."

A good way to visualize the meaning of this is to imagine you are staring at a mirror. But when you look into the mirror your body is gone, you can see the wall behind you but cannot see yourself--in fact, you don't even have a voice. Yet, in this imaginary situation you are still conscious, looking at the mirror. Who are you now? Are you friendly, are you shy? Are you a good person? Smart? You can now see that you are none of these things...these are all illusions. "You" do not exist. Yet, you experience.

There is an experiencing, and that is all there is.

the soul is the observer the ego is the experiencer

at all levels you become more "self", at high levels you are less self and more God, you are just a perspective for God, Source, w/e you want to call it.
